What a productive day! District 13 Leagues have held their winter meetings this weekend and ALOT was accomplished. Acknowledgements were handed out for the great performance at State for the West Plains and Liberty Lake teams that went and represented District 13 in State tournaments. We also heard from the various Presidents and Board members who discussed the operations of the Leagues in 2024. All leagues across the District reported growth in registration numbers and anticipate even more in 2025. Baseball Divisions T-Ball through 50/70 were played in 2024 along with Softball teams that were developed.

For 2025 there were also discussions around the new “Borderless” options in Little League that allow players in certain divisions to select which league they wish to play in. Also new tools provided by Little League International for team management, training, and other functions for league management were introduced and discussed.

Site selection for the District tournament was made as the 2025 District tournament for D13 will be held in Liberty Lake. In addition District 13 will be hosting the Little League State tournament for the 11u Baseball.

Also, the NEW North Spokane League representatives were there and they got to meet and make connections with all the other Presidents! We look forward to the inaugural year of this league and are excited about bringing Little League baseball to the North Spokane players!

Hey Everyone… We have a new Little League for NORTH SPOKANE!!! We formed it this week and are beginning preparations for the new League to start playing in 2025! We will be offering baseball and softball. We need lots of help though – we need coaches, players, managers, team parents, board members, and MORE! District 13 in conjunction with Washington State LL Umpires Association is holding an UMPIRE TRAINING day Saturday March 1 2025 from 9-4. Keep watching this space for more details. If you have ever wanted to gain umpire skills that apply to all levels of baseball, this training is great for YOU! You can contact the District 14 Umpire in Chief (UIC) at 509-475-3919. We are looking to spin up a NEW LEAGUE FOR NORTH SPOKANE! And we need alot of help! Little League is about building community, teaching great baseball, and having fun. It’s all about integrity, courage, and loyalty!

If you would like to help out, we are having an organizational meeting on Oct 17! We need lots and lots of volunteers. The first step is to form a “Board”… these people should first love to work with the up and coming generation, and be dedicated to improving their community. Baseball is important, but more important are mentors that just want to help. We need several Board positions, we have at LEAST 8 open positions to fill from President on down. If you feel you can commit to the best baseball program in the world, and be a part of something that makes a positive impact on your community and the lives of kids, then get in contact with us! We also need tons of players too – Little League isn’t just baseball, it’s also softball, and there is a division for kids with all types of disabilities called the “Challenger Division”.
